Obituary for Ella Newton
Ella Sue Newton, 70, 481 Jonesboro Drive, Bluff City died Saturday, January 15, 2005 at Select Specialty Hospital, Bristol , TN following an extended illness. A native of Sullivan County she was the daughter of the late Roy and Sally Grindstaff. She was retired from the Sullivan County School System where she worked at Sullivan East High School Cafeteria. Mrs. Newton was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen Grindstaff and Dewey Grindstaff and one sister, Grace Hickman. Survivors include three sons, David Newton, Steve Newton and Johnny Newton all of Bluff City; one grand daughter, Michelle Newton, Bluff City; three sisters, Jo Worley, Bluff City, Reba Phillips and Minnie Harlow, both of Bristol, Tennessee. Several nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

The graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 20,2005 at Sunrise Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Robbie Thomas, Robbie Stowers, Brian Ramsey and Mike Briscoe. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike McGann and Allen Scardo. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 1:50 P.M.. Thursday. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at Tetrick Funeral Home, Bluff City.
