GRAY, Tenn. -- Sharlene Jones Harkleroad, 53, of 131 Fairway Drive, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 14, 2003, at Johnson City Medical Center after a short illness. She was born Sept. 11, 1949, in Bluefield, W.Va., and grew up in the Bluff City area and had made her home in Gray the past 34 years. She was a homemaker and graduate in 1968 from the last class at Bluff City High School.

Survivors include: husband of 34 years, Phil Harkleroad; daughter, Angela Harkleroad Williams of Alpharetta, Ga.; parents, George J. and Velma Shields Jones of Bluff City; brothers: Sam Jones and wife Rufa of Gray Court, S.C.; and Dan Jones and wife Brenda of Stone Mountain, Ga.; mother-in-law, Madeline R. Harkleroad of Bristol Tennessee; sister-in-law, Priscilla Keene of Bluff City; brother-in-law, Tim Harkleroad and wife Melanie of Bristol Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Sunrise Cemetery in Bluff City with Niles Kitzmiller and Sam Jones officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Weaver Funeral Home. In lieu of
flowers, memorials may be made to the charity or church of your choice. Weaver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
