Virginia Putnam Clemons, lifelong resident of Signal Mountain and Pikeville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 1, 2005.

She was born October 13, 1946.  Mrs. Clemons was a member of Lone Oak Church of God.  

She was preceded in death by her father, John Wenton Putnam; brother, Landon R. Putnam.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest G. Clemons; sons, Stacy L. Cagle and fiancé, Vickie Mays and David and Paula Phillips; her beloved grandsons, Joshua and Jacob Phillips; her stepchildren, Randy (Sally) Clemons, Peggy (Joe) Weiss, Wanda (Greg) Grizzell; mother, Luecill Putnam; little brother, Terry Putnam; brothers and sisters Jerry (Mary) Putnam, Jimmy (Felecia) Putnam, Annette Reed, Carolyn (Bobby) Keedy, JoAnn (Gerald) Reece, Thelma (Bill) Neal, Brenda (Clarence) Camp; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Lone Oak Church of God with Pastor Harley Morrison and Pastor Dennis Bunch officiating and visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery.  The family will also receive friends after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, all day Thursday and until noon Friday at Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel, 601 Ashland Terrace.  Visit www.lane-coulterchapel.com to send condolences.
