Mrs. Elsie L. Swafford, 88, of Chattanooga went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 14, 2015.
Elsie was born in Signal Mountain on May 5, 1927 to parents Joseph and Bessie (Simons) Lewis.
She was of the Baptist faith. Elsie enjoyed things such as flowers, sewing, photography, singing and birds, but most of all her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Nelson; and sisters, Irene, Pauline, and Betty Rose.
She will be greatly missed by those who survive her, including her daughter, Carolyn Baker and husband, Leonard; daughter, Gloria McCarty; sister, Elizabeth Horner; brothers William Lewis and Albert Lewis; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Sawyers Missionary Baptist Church in Signal Mountain on Monday, November 16th at 1:00 PM with Reverend Richard Horner officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday November 15th from 2-5 PM at Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace, and 12-1 PM at the Church on Monday. Arrangements are under the care of Lane Funeral Home Ashland Terrace.
