Irene Mildred Acklen, 95, of Red Bank, went to be with the Lord Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, in a local hospital.
Irene was a beautician with Macy's in New York City.
Irene was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lou Ducker Hicks.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Vernon Acklen; brothers and sisters, Grover, James, John and Eddie Hicks, Willie O'Neal and Ruth Gann.
Survivors include her niece, Jeannine Swanger, and family, of Red Bank; and other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and greatnephews.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace, with the Rev. Mark Harwood officiating.
Interment will follow in Sawyer Cemetery.
John Skipper, Mike Wright, Eugene Hart, Bobby Hart, Jason Hughes, Jeremy Hughes and Michael Lawrence will serve as pallbearers.
