Obits:

Bette Penny, 89, of Signal Mountain, TN, passed away August 5, 2018. She was a longtime member of Wayside Presbyterian Church. Bette was retired from the Hamilton County Election Commission.

Her husband, Stancel Gann Penny, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Martin Penny; her daughter, Becky (Doug) Campbell; her grandchildren, Brian Penny, Emily Blackwell (Robey McKown) and three great-grandchildren, Josephine, Caleb and Joshua McKown.

Visitation is 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home.

There will be a private service and burial at a later date.

Stancel Gann Penny, 78, of Signal Mountain, passed away Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, at his home.

Mr. Penny retired from Cobble Industries after 25 years of service. He also worked at Wheland Foundry for 17 years. He was a member of Wayside Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Penny; and brother, Harold C. Penny.

Survivors include his wife, Bette Penny of Signal Mountain; son, Martin Penny of Signal Mountain; daughter, Becky Campbell of Signal Mountain; grandson, Brian Penny; and granddaughter, Emily Blackwell.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Marshall St. John and the Rev. James C. Green officiating.

Interment will follow in Sawyer Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Wayside Presbyterian Church, General Fund, 2502 Fairmount Pike, Signal Mountain, TN 37377.

Arrangements are by Williamson & Sons Funeral Home.
