Effie Fowler Rogers, 89, of Harrison, died on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 from a local hospital.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, John and Faithie Fowler; husband, George E. Rogers; three brothers, Jack, Cecil and Burrell; three sisters, Annie, Omie and Irene.
She is survived by her two sons, Robert L. (Peggie) Rogers, and John O. Rogers and his companion, Joyce McDonald; one sister, Jessie Fitts; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a very special friend, Helen Crowe.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 9, at 2 p.m. in the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. David Bragg and Pastor Orvan Childers officiating. Interment will follow in the Bartlebaugh Cemetery with David Rogers, George Rogers, Kenny Crowe, John Quarles, Troy Underwood and John McLeod serving as pallbearers, honorary pallbearers will be Mary Quarles and Sydney Underwood.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 8, from 4-8 p.m. and on Friday up to the hour of service at the funeral home.
