The Rev. Clifford A. Jones of Soddy-Daisy died Saturday, June 24, 1995, at his home. He was 83.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elberta Lasley Jones, and two sons, Arllie and Doyle Jones. He was the founder and first minister of Maple Hollow Church of God, now Sequoyah Church of God.
Survivors include six daughters, Beddie Jones, Bonnie Mincey, Brenda White and Peggy Howell, all of Soddy-Daisy, Christine Hix and Norma Vincent, Hixson; two stepdaughters, Cecilia Nedllin, Phoenix, Ariz., and Wanda Dell, Soddy-Daisy; four brothers, Thurman Jones, Oregon, Leonard and William Jones, Soddy-Daisy, and Jack Jones, Hixson; three sisters, Phyllis Conners, Florida, Vada White, Dayton, Tenn., Thelma Frye, McMinnville, Tenn.; 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home with Dewayne Swanner officiating. Burial will be in Wilcoxen Cemetery.
