Gladys Dean Maye, of Sale Creek, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at a local hospital. She was 83.
A homemaker by trade, Mrs. Maye was a member and custodian of Sale Creek First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold G. Maye; daughter, Mary G. Adams; sons, William (Bo) L. Maye and Jackie Allen; grandson, Mark Anthony McClendon; and brother, Glenn B. Burton.
Survivors include his sons, Ronnie Maye of Sale Creek, and Gene Maye of Bakewell; daughters, Glenda McClendon and Alma Dean Poole, both of Sale Creek; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Nov. 28, in the chapel of Williamson and Sons Funeral Home in Soddy-Daisy, with Revs. Clay Moreland, Archie Poole and John Eldridge officiating. Burial was in Patterson Cemetery in Sale Creek. Williamson and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
