Freddy “Chief” Mincey, 77, of Soddy-Daisy, TN passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022, in a local hospital.

He was employed by Astec Industries prior to retiring from Hamilton County Board of Education. He was an ordained Baptist Preacher who stayed very true to his Faith and Calling until Jesus called him home leaving behind a legacy to all who knew him. His love for bird watching inspired him to use his talent and creativity to build bird houses, feeders, miniature houses and more that he shared with so many.

Preceded in death by his father, David M. Mincey, Sr., mother, Helen Mincey, along with eight brothers and two sisters.

Survived by his wife of 59 years, Frankie Mincey; two daughters, Darlene (Nolan) Branum and Sherri (Adrian) Berry; son, Scott (Angie Womac) Mincey; five grandchildren, Adam (Gwen) Berry, Kyle (Amanda) Branum, Wade (Shelby) Branum, Neyland (Aaron) Andrus and Scottlyn Mincey; five great-grandchildren, Hunter Berry, Eden, Esme, Silas and Fitz Branum. along with sisters, Faye Lockhart, Charlotte Reed and brother, Ricky Mincey.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 13th in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Nathan Poteet officiating. Interment will follow at Patterson Cemetery with Scott Mincey, Adrian Berry, Nolan Branum, Kyle Branum, Adam Berry, and Dan Presley serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Wednesday and from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
