John J. Ritchie, 79, of Soddy-Daisy, died on Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at a local health care facility.
He was of the Baptist faith, and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Ritchie; son, Timothy Leon Ritchie.
He is survived by his sons, James (Janet) Ritchie, Johnny (Deborah) Ritchie, Bruce (Leslie) Ritchie; stepsons, Tom and Doug Hart; daughters, Sherri (David) Pendergrass, Glenda (Allen) Lewis; stepdaughter, Tammy Lewis; brothers, Buddy (Theresa) Ritchie, Oscar (Violet) Ritchie, Otis (Janelle) Ritchie, Ralph Jr. (Trudy) Ritchie, Tommy (Linda) Ritchie; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Paul Forgey officiating.
Interment will follow in Gray Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Williamson & Sons Funeral Home in Soddy-Daisy.
Judy Ritchie, 63, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2005, at her residence.
She is survived by husband Johnny Ritchie, mother, Dovie Adams, sons Douglas E. Hart of Chattanooga and Dale Hart of Hixson; daughter Glenda Lewis of Soddy-Daisy and Tammy Lewis of Oklahoma; stepdaughter, Sherry Pendergrass of North Carolina; stepsons, Bruce Ritchie of Dayton, Tenn., Kenny Ritchie of Hixson and Bruce Ritchie of Hixson; brother, Amos Adams of Chattanooga; sisters, Lorene Jones of Melbourne, Fla., and Ruth Minter of Crofton, Md., seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov 1 2005, in the chapel of funeral home with the Rev. Marcus Clagg officiating.
Interment will follow in Gray Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today and after 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.
Arrangements are by Williamson & Sons Funeral Home in Soddy-Daisy.
