Louise Menifee, 97, peacefully died on Friday, January 6, 2012 at her residence, surrounded by a portion of her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Lucius Son Menifee, the founder of Morris Hill Baptist Church, where they served as pastor and first lady for numerous years.

She was the mother of 18 children, with six preceding her in death.

She is survived by Joyce Chapman, Edward (Gail) Chapman, Gwendolyn Smith, Charlotte Johnson, Alice Faye (Darnell) Turner, Fredrick Brown, Willie Lee (Clothied) Menifee, Willie Ruth Menifee, Lucius Menifee, Jr., Darrell Menifee, Sr., James Jeffery(Anita) Menifee, Sr., and Marvin L. (June) Menifee, all of Chattanooga. In addition, she leaves 50 grandchildren, 92 great-grandchildren, 30 great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandchild, who will all miss her dearly.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, at New Covenant Fellowship Church at 2 p.m., with Pastor Bernie Miller officiating.
The family will receive friends and family for visitation on Friday, January 13, from 6-8 p.m. at Advantage Funeral Home.
