William A. "Jack" Basinger Jr., 91, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 in a local hospital.
Mr. Basinger was born in Huntsville, Al., and had lived in Chattanooga for the past 33 years. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and also held memberships in the Alhambra Shrine, Scottish Rites and the Ooltewah Masonic Lodge # 741.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Ed (Kathy) Biggs, Donna Gaydosh and Mark Biggs; two stepgreat-grandsons, Robert and Richard Klein; three great-granddaughters, Arielle and Chelsey Gaydosh and Kaylee Biggs; great-grandson, Kyle Biggs; niece, Bettye Smith.
Services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Richard Jones officiating. Interment will be in Varnell Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday at Heritage Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
