Charlie W. Woody, 75, of Birchwood, passed away Friday morning at his home. He was the son of the late Herbert and Hattie Smith Woody and was preceded in death by one daughter: Judith Woody; one brother: H.W. Woody, Jr.; and two sisters: Edith Yates and Ginny Patrick.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. He was a member of the Birchwood Baptist Church and a member of the Asbestos Workers Local #46.
Survivors include his wife: Marcella Woody; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Carla and Kenneth Laster of Birchwood, Janet Woody of Johnson City, and Susie and Roger Smith of Johnson City; two sons and daughters-in-law: Charles H. and Jodi Woody and Blaine and Jana Masters all of Birchwood; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister: Beulah Bilka of Telford; one brother: Glen Woody of Rogersville; five half-sisters: Jessie Johnson, Betty Layne, Brenda Wilhiot and Ann Griswold all of Hixson, and Bettie Floyd of Rossville, GA; one half-brother: Carl Woody of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Rev. Gurney Beard officiating.
Interment will follow in the Gamble Road Baptist Church Cemetery.

Marcella M. Woody, 87, of Birchwood, Tennessee, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016.
She was a native of Greeneville, TN and a graduate of Camp Creek High School and Frenchburg College in Frenchburg, KY. Marcella was a retired bookkeeper. She was a member of Birchwood Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Lura Myers; husband, Charles W. Woody; son, George Blane Masters III; two step-daughters, Judy Woody and Susie Smith; two sisters, Eileen Myers and Inelle Broyles; and three brothers, Paul Myers, Don Myers and Clyde Myers.
Survivors include her daughter, Carla (Kenneth) Laster of Birchwood; son, Charles "Charlie" H. (Donna) Woody of Birchwood; step-daughter, Janet Woody of Johnson City, TN; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Frank Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Holder Memorial Cemetery with Roger Myers, Michael Laster, John Myers, Lloyd Myers, Scott Harvey and Masters serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 16 from 4-7 p.m. at the Fike Funeral Home who has charge of the arrangements.
