Saturday, November 26, 2016

John R. ‘Jack’ LaTour, 86, of Cleveland, Tennessee, died on Friday, November 25, 2016.

Born on July 7, 1930, Jack was educated in Ticonderoga, NY, and joined the Air Force in 1950, proudly serving in Security Police and nuclear weapons security. Upon discharge from the service he returned to his hometown to build a 42-year career as a paper maker with International Paper Company and he married his beloved Beulah. They raised a son and two daughters and they have watched their family grow to four grandchildren and then 13 great-grandchildren. If God gives us the pleasures of our heart in heaven, you may find Jack making heavenly maple syrup or he may be found making old tractors and backhoes run perfectly.

A memorial service will be held on Nov. 27 from 4-5:30 p.m. at the Gamble Road Baptist Church, located at 11703 Dolly Pond Road, with Pastor Josh Cornelius officiating the service.

Companion Funeral Home and the Cody family are in charge of the arrangements.

Friday, September 30, 2016

Beulah LaTour, 81, of Cleveland, Tennessee, died Wednesday evening, September 28, 2016.

Born in 1935, she spent much of her life in Ticonderoga, NY, where she graduated first in her high school class. Shortly thereafter she married John 'Jack' LaTour, the love of her life. Together they raised a son and two daughters and have seen their family grow and grow, to four grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. All who knew Beulah made her their own; her family goes far beyond blood relatives - she was everyone's loving grandmother. An avid reader, Beulah always had a book nearby but none were ever closer to her side than her Bible, which she spent time with every day.

A Celebration of Life service is planned for 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Gamble Road Baptist Church, located at 11703 Dolly Pond Road, with Pastor Josh Cornelius officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Holder Memorial Cemetery.
