Richard Paul Elsass died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at his home. He was 53.

Mr. Elsass was a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran and a member of Gamble Road Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Irwin Elsass; and two brothers, Carroll Elsass and Kenneth Irwin Elsass.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene Benedict Elsass, Birchwood, Tenn.; mother, Anna Rose Burke Elsass, Wapakoneta, Ohio; two sons, Dwayne Elsass, Houma, La., and Todd Elsass, Knoxville; one daughter, Kimberly Smith, Chattanooga; one brother, Allen Elsass; three sisters, Norma Jarrells, Martha Rosorfer, all of Wapakoneta, Ohio, and Virginia McDermitt, St. Marys, Ohio; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be today at 5 p.m. at Gamble Road Baptist Church.

Burial will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. in Holder Memorial Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are by Turner Funeral Home.

Marlene Lynn Goode, 71, of Birchwood, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, in a local hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Katherine Armacost; and sisters: Marilyn Jones and Margo Hoetzel.

She was a former retail manager with the Golden Gallon Company and was a member of Gamble Road Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Eddie Goode; children: Dwayne and Kellie Elsass, Todd Elsass and Kimberly Dixon, and Kimberly and Bob Bell; grandkids: Dwayne Jr. and Lavona Elsass, Karissa and Stefan Neubig, Justin and Laura Estes, Nicole and Jonthan Jenkins, Kaylynn and Brandon Williams, and Jonathan Smith; and great-grandkids: Brantley Jenkins, Odin Elsass, Bo Williams, Brinley Williams and Maddison Williams.

There are no formal services scheduled at this time.

Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, Wildwood Avenue Chapel, has charge of the arrangements.
