Loving Mother
Teresa “Terri” Jean Johnson, 50, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014. She was a loving mother, faithful friend, a joy to everyone who knew her, and a hilarious shenaniganizer. She was employed at Southern Champion Tray for the last three years. Prior to her employment with SCT, she served as the Director of Children’s Ministries at Burk’s United Methodist Church for many years. Children adored her and she them.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gene Vercher; grandparents, General and Billie Smith; and grandparents, Ezeb and Vera Vercher.
Survivors include her mother, Virginia Elmyrah Vercher; son, Kyle Robert Johnson; daughters, Kaitlin Marie Johnson, Kelsey Brianne Johnson; sisters, Deanna Vercher Gates, Daniele Vercher Potts; cousins, several nieces and nephews; and her pet dog, Maggie Lou.
A private graveside service will be held with family on Tuesday with Dr. Dwight Kilbourne officiating. Interment will be in Coleman Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 8:00 P.M. on Monday, March 17, 2014 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Camp Lookout, 3130 Highway 157, Rising Fawn, Georgia, 30738, in Terri Johnson’s name. A celebration of Terri’s life will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 18, in the sanctuary at Burk’s UMC.
