Mary Louise Gossett Helton, 79, of

Dayton, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at her home.
She lived in Dayton for 23 years.

Helton was preceded in death by her first husband, Gus Hurd; her second husband
James Helton; parents Jesse and Mary Jane Gossett; daughter Shirley Hurd; and
eight brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa McAllister, of Dayton; two sons, Jesse
Hurd of Sand Mt., Ga., and Roy Hurd of Bakewell, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; 15
great grandchildren; four great, great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Helton's grandsons will be the pallbearers.

Graveside services will be held Thursday at noon with the Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald
officiating, with interment following at the Coleman Cemetery in Bakewell.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m.

Services were provided by Coulter Garrison Funeral Home, Inc., in Dayton.
