Elizabeth Williams McDonald, 93, of Lookout Mountain, died Thursday at her home. A member of the board of directors of the Chattanooga Free Press, she was the widow of Roy K. McDonald, founder and publisher of the newspaper. A native of Trenton, Ga., Mrs. McDonald moved with her family to Chattanooga at an early age. She was a graduate of Central High School and Edmondson Business College. She worked as a volunteer in the public schools and in the work of her church, First Presbyterian, where she taught lay groups and was particularly interested in the mission ministry of the church. Survivors include four daughters, Helen Exum and Betsy Anderson, both of Chattanooga, Dr. Martha McDonald, Memphis and Nancy Reinke, Alexandria, Va.; a son, Frank W. McDonald, Chattanooga; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church with Ben Haden officiating. Burial will be in the McDonald family cemetery at McDonald Farm in Sale Creek. Memorial contributions may be made to the World Missions Fund at First Presbyterian Church or to a favorite charity. Visitation will be 12:30-2 p.m. at the church. Arrangements by Wann Funeral Home.
