Charles Earl Kaylor Sr., 81, of Dayton, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013 at his home.

He was a lifelong resident of Dayton and a retired veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict where was awarded the Silver Star and many other ribbons and medals for his service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Elizabeth Kaylor; two sons, Max Tallent Jr. and James Howard Tallent and two brothers, Perry and George Kaylor.

Survivors include his two daughters, Maxine (Doyle) Creasman of Graysville and Gerrell Kaylor of Dayton; four sons, Earl "Bo� Kaylor of Dayton, Charles (Linda) Kaylor of Graysville, George Kaylor of Dayton and Randy (Emily) Kaylor of Hixson; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at noon in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Carroll. Burial will be at Shelton Cemetery in Sale Creek, Tenn.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Family Worship Center in Dayton.

DAYTON - Lucy Elizabeth Kaylor, 83, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at home.

She was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and a member of Dayton Church of God of Prophecy.

Preceded in death by two sons, Max Tallent Jr. and James Howard Tallent; parents, Bill and Lucille Potter Clingan.

Survivors: husband, Charles Kaylor Sr., Dayton; two daughters, Maxine (Doyle) Creasman, Gerrell Kaylor, all of Graysville; four sons, Earl (Bo) and (Judy) Kaylor, of Dayton, Charles (Linda) Kaylor Jr., Graysville, George Kaylor, Dayton, Randy (Emily) Kaylor, Soddy-Daisy, Tenn.; two sisters, Maudie Holland, Dayton, Jo Ann Downs, of Graysville; three brothers, Robert Clingan, Dayton, Leland Clingan, Billy Clingan Jr., both of Graysville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral: noon Monday at the Chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Carroll and the Rev. Audie May officiating.

Visitation: 1-9 p.m. today.

Interment: Shelton Cemetery, Sale Creek, Tenn.
