Mildred V. Crawley Poole, 84, of Sale Creek, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002, after a recent illness at a hospital in Chattanooga.

She was born and lived most of her life in the Sale Creek area. She was a member of the Lake Drive Baptist Church in Sale Creek and an employee of McDonald's in Dayton for the past nine years. She was a former employee of the Sale Creek School's cafeteria and retired from Dri-Set in Graysville after 28 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lizzie Crawley and husband, Creed W. Poole Sr.

Survivors include two sons, Creed W. Poole Jr. and wife, Vivica; Lee Allen Poole and wife, Donna; all of Sale Creek; daughter, Mildred Gail Newell and husband, Randy of Dayton; four grandchildren, Tammi Poole Lawrence of Soddy Daisy; Jeff and Kevin Newell, both of Dayton; and Brandi Poole of Sale Creek; four great grandchildren, Leslie, Jeremy and Myles Lawrence of Soddy Daisy and Brandon Newell of Dayton; several nieces and nephews.

Services were conducted Friday at 3 p.m. at Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with the Rev. J.D. Carnes and the Rev. Jerry Levengood officiating. Burial was in the Shelton Cemetery in Sale Creek.
