Together Forever
Archie James Poole, Sr., age 90, of Sale Creek, died Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Erlanger North in Chattanooga. A lifelong resident of Sale Creek, he was born January 12, 1923 to the late Samuel and Jessie (Clingan) Poole.
Archie served his country with the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II. He was a supervisor and foreman for the Hamilton County Highway Department for many years. He enjoyed woodworking and farming and was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Thelma (Reel) Poole of Sale Creek, two sons Archie “Jim”(June) Poole, Jr., of Evensville and Sammy Poole of Hermitage, two daughters, Judy (Carlos) Cordell and Jackie (Danny) Hixson, both of Sale Creek, nine grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.
Funeral services with military honors will be held Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Ewing officiating. He will be laid to rest Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Shelton Cemetery in Sale Creek.

Thelma Euva Poole, age 90 of Sale Creek passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at her home. Thelma was born in Graysville on May 9, 1927 the daughter of the late Thomas and Marcella Ethel (Walker) Reel. She was also preceded in death by her husband Archie James Poole.
Thelma was a homemaker and loved to crochet, knit and read.
She is survived by two daughters Judy (Carlos) Cordell of Sale Creek, Jackie (Danny) Hixson of Sale Creek, two sons, Jimmy (June) Poole of Evensville, and Sammy Poole of Hermitage, one brother, Bobby (Georgia) James of Soddy Daisy, nine grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Thelma will be held Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Archie D. Poole officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Shelton Cemetery in Sale Creek on Friday at 10 a.m.
