Jesse B. Carr, 73, of Soddy-Daisy died Jan. 2, 2001, at his home.

He served in the Marines and retired from the Chattanooga Boiler and Tank with 42 years of service.

He was a member of Mowbray Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include wife, Ina Ruth Carr, Soddy-Daisy; two sons, Lamar Carr and Odell Carr, both of Soddy-Daisy; three brothers, Aubrey Carr, Manchester, Tenn., Henry Carr, Shelbyville, Tenn., and Clifton Carr, Detroit; one sister, Marie Hickerson, Nashville; two half brothers, Wayne Carr and Jr. Carr, both of Tullahoma, Tenn.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Art Hampson officiating.

Interment will be in the Varner Cemetery on Mowbray Mountain.

Donations may be made to the Varner Cemetery in care of Dennis McClendon, 2053 Linwood Drive, Soddy-Daisy, TN. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. today.

Williamson and Sons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Ina Ruth Carr, 83, of Soddy-Daisy, TN, passed away, Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at her residence after an extended illness. She was a faithful member of Mowbray Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse B. Carr; parents, Louis & Sarah Johnson; sisters, Ellen Guess, Anne Yother, Gladys Johnson; brothers, Jasper Johnson, Coy Johnson, Arwin Johnson, Thomas Johnson, Virgil Johnson and Warren Johnson.

She is survived by her two sons, Lamar (Connie) Carr, Odell (Vicky) Carr; sister, Myrtle Smith; brother, L.F. Johnson, Jr.; three grandchildren, Beverly (Wayne) Jones, Jason Carr, Misty (Jeremy) Hicks; six great-grandchildren, Ashley (Wesley) Lewis, Cody Jones, Hunter Jones, Makayla Hicks, Kensley Hicks; Weston Hicks; one great-great-grandchild, Emma Jones; one nephew who they assisted raising, Kenneth Johnson and several nieces & nephews.

The funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 12, 2011, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Art Hampson & Rev. Louis Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Varner Cemetery on Mowbray Mountain. Visitation with the family will be 12:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. Thursday.
