Violet Elizabeth Woodward Heard, 81, of West Palm Beach, FL, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at Hospice of West Palm Beach.

She was a former resident of Soddy-Daisy. She was the daughter of John and Margarette Woodward. She was a mother who was the hub of the family. She loved to work crossword puzzles and loved to cook. She was a representative of Avon Products from January 1972 through March 2004. The family is very appreciative of all the support she received.

She is survived by her husband, Emmett E. Heard of West Palm Beach; sons, Jerry D. Green of Soddy-Daisy, Johnny and wife Verenda Green of Soddy-Daisy, Gary D. Heard of West Palm Beach, FL; beloved sister of J.D. Woodward, the Rev. Gene L. Woodward, Roland "Cotton" Woodward; grandchildren, Christopher D. and wife Maria Green, Denis E. and wife Jessica Heard, Dewight Lee Heard; greatgrandchildren, Shanna, Mathew, Annie, Crystal; great-great-grandchildren, Shelby, Logan, Jade.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel with the Rev. Allan Stewart officiating.

Internment will follow in Union Fork Community Cemetery.

The family will receive friends after 11 a.m. Friday.

Earl obit:
Emmett Earl Heard, 78, of West Palm Beach, FL, passed away peacefully, January 20, 2007 at his home. He was born on June 19, 1928 in Bakewell, TN and has resided in West Palm Beach for the past forty-five years. He was the laughter of the family, always up for a good game of dominos and he enjoyed westerns and game shows. Also, he was a well known radiator repair technician in the area for many years.   

Beloved son of the late Gordon & Clara Heard. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Violet and son Dwight. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Erma Settles, Brothers, Fred and Clinton Heard. 

He is survived by three sons, Jerry Green, Johnny Green and Gary Heard, together with numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
 Sisters, Bobbie Keltch of Sale Creek, Wilma Perryof Cleveland, Ohio, and Dollie Fugate of Indianapolis, Indiana.
The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 25, 2007, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Stewart officiating. Earl will be laid to rest at Union Fork Cemetery.  Visitation is 12:00 TO 8:00 Wednesday, January 24, 2007 and after 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January, 25, 2007.

He will be greatly missed and his memory will be present in our hearts forever.
