Blanche Abernathy of Soddy-Daisy died Friday, June 30, 1995, in a Chattanooga nursing home. She was 86. Mrs. Abernathy was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Abernathy, and a daughter, Shelby Bailey.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Beene and Willa Dean Abernathy, both of Soddy-Daisy; a brother, Wilbern Penney, St. Petersburg, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 3:30 p.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, Soddy-Daisy, with the Rev. Fred Doss officiating. Burial will be in East Soddy Church of God Cemetery. The family will receive friends today after 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
