Doris Obit:
Doris Faye Reed, 65, of Soddy-Daisy passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017. She was a native of Tallassee, AL and lived in Soddy-Daisy for over 20 years. Doris was of the Baptist faith and loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping and was a taxidermist.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Ben Brown; husband, Carl Reed; daughter, Lynn Nix; and 2 loving pets, Bingo and Lady Reed.

Survivors include her daughter, Jeri (Dale) Dillard; sons, Albert Langley and Tony (Sherry) Reed; grandchildren, Hope Taylor, Justin Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Clay Reed, Coy Reed, Brittany Bryant, Brooke (Jeremy) Ballentine and Lana (Eric) Lane; 5 great grandbabies and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Tim Smith and Rev. Roy Vogan presiding; internment to follow in East Soddy Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017.

Carl Obit:

Carl Eugene Reed, 76, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2015.  He was a native of Rossville and lived in Soddy-Daisy over 50 years.  Carl was of the Baptist faith.  He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.  Carl retired from TVA where he was a pipefitter for Sequoyah Nuclear Plant and a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 43.  He loved to turkey and deer hunt.  Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Nowell and Kate Reed; brothers, James T. Reed and Robert Reed and sisters, Helen Card and Betty Thomas and his loving pet, Bingo.

Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Doris Reed; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Sherry Reed; daughter, Carla Morgan; step-children, Lynn Nix, Jeri Dillard (Dale); grandchildren, Coy Reed, Clay Reed, Randy Layne, Katie Layne and Lana Lane (Eric); step-grandchildren, Hope, Justin and Ryan Taylor, Brittany McKinstry and Brooke Gregory; great granddaughter, Alana Reed;  several nieces and nephews and his loving pet, Lady.

Services will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tim Smith officiating.  Burial will follow at East Soddy Community Cemetery.  Visitation is Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
