Dwight's Obit:
Dwight “Meatball” Gann, 69, of Soddy-Daisy, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in a local hospital.  He previously worked in construction, FLR and Cobble Muse Hosiery Mills as well as the former owner of the old Wimpie’s Restaurant and the Discount Tobacco Outlet until his retirement.  Dwight loved knitting “toboggans” for friends and family and those who might be in need.  He loved telling jokes and pulling gags on people, all for a good laugh.  He never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation wherever he might be.  Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred F. and Stella Lovelady Gann and one infant brother, Larry Gann.  

Survivors include his wife, Brenda McWilliams Gann; son, Jeffrey (Pam) Gann; daughter, Rebecca Gann Tucker; 4 grandchildren, Laura Beth (Jake) Edwards, Megan (Brock) Nunley, Joseph (Tiffany) Tucker and Sean Tucker; 3 great grandchildren, Abbi Grace Tucker, Callie Beth Nunley and Blakely Rae Edwards; brother, Winfred (Elaine) Gann; niece, Sheila Gann (Jeff) Amos; nephews, David (Terri) Gann and George (Kim) Gann; several great nephews, nieces and many cousins all of whom he loved dearly.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Calvin Nunley officiating.  Burial will follow at East Soddy Community Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Phillip Hamrick, Marty Bowman, Terry Webb, Greg Burnett, David Gann and George Gann.  Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Romesburg, Gabby Williamson, Jerry McClendon, Bill Stewart, Ronnie Payne, Jim Henry, Marvin Francisco and Punk Heard.  Visitation is Friday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Brenda's Obit:

Brenda McWilliams Gann, 73, of Soddy-Daisy, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 6, 2020. Brenda was an avid sewer, crafter and an excellent cook. She could always make something out of nothing. She was also a handy woman and there wasn’t anything she could not fix. Brenda was a member of the Circle of Three Trio where they would sing praises to the Lord. After many years of working at Stardust Cruisers, she was able to pursue her passion of nursing. She became a LPN where she worked for Dr. E. Wayne Gilley and later retired from the Chattanooga Heart Institute. She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer McWilliams and her husband, Dwight “Meatball” Gann.

Survivors are her mother, Marietta McWilliams; son, Jeff Gann (Pam); daughter, Rebecca Gann Tucker; grandchildren, Laura Beth Edwards (Jake), Megan Nunley (Brock), Alisha Goins (Justin), Joseph Tucker (Tiffany) and Sean Tucker; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Carol Vaughn (Ron) and Anita Dodd (Warren); many beloved family members; lifelong friends, Janice Francisco and Nancye Wilson Chambers.

Services will be on Monday, March 9, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Calvin Nunley officiating. Burial will follow at East Soddy Community Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
