John Obit:
John Ed “Buddy” Kerns, 78, of Soddy Daisy, passed away on December 8, 2020. He retired from Hamilton County. Buddy loved his family deeply and was known as a joker and a prankster. He was also an avid fisherman.
His wife, Mary Kerns; son, Billy Kerns, and a daughter, Wanda Kerns, preceded him in death.
Buddy was survived by his daughters, Debbie (Grover) Harding, Sandy (Chris) Hay and Judy (K.C.) Carroll; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three brothers; one sister and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation with his family will be 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home. Services will be private at a later date.

Mary Ann Kerns, 65, of Soddy Daisy died on Saturday, June 7 2014 in an area health care facility.
She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, John Kerns; son, Billy Kerns; daughters, Debbie Kerns, Sandy Hay, Judy Carroll; brothers, Ray Smith, Billy Smith, Ronald Smith and Floyd McCormick; sisters, Louise Rhinehart, Gladys Hudson, Barbara Dennison, Ella Creasman, Norma Bowman and Patty Kilgore; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend William Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Smith Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3-9 p.m. on Monday, June 9, at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Soddy Daisy.
