Barbara's Obituary:
Barbara Jean Bowers, 76, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2009. She was a member of the Mowbray Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles W. Hatfield, Laura Taylor Hatfield; and two sisters, Betty Smartt & Peggy Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Norris Bowers; sons, Richard (Cynthia) Bowers, Steve (Julie) Bowers; brother, Charles “Buddy” Hatfield; sister, Charline Taylor; grandson, Ryan Bowers and several nieces & nephews.
The Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 5, 2009 at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Grant Chauncey & Bishop William Coulter officiating. Interment will follow in Millsaps Cemetery. Visitation is 1:00 TO 8:00 Sunday, January 4, 2009. The family offers a special thanks to, Memorial North Park Hospital, Life Care Center of Red Bank & Hospice of Chattanooga. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.williamsonandsons.com. George's obituary:
George Norris Bowers, 85, passed away on April 26, 2019. He was a member of Mowbray Church of God for the past 5 years and rarely missed a service. Norris was retired from TVA after 25 years, and was a member of the Iron Workers Local 704.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George Leonard and Daisy Skiles Bowers, three brothers, Bill, Arthur, and Hobert Bowers, two sisters, Lorene Teasley and Louise Johnson, and several nieces and nephews. He is also preceded by his wife, Barbara Hatfield Bowers.
Survivors are his two sons, Richard (Cynthia) Bowers and Steve (Julie) Bowers, grandson, Ryan Bowers, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their thanks to Life Care of Hixson for their care and devotion.
Services will be held at Mowbray Church of God at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2019, with Rev. Grant Chauncey presiding. Burial will follow at Millsaps Cemetery. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at the funeral home and then from 11:00 to 1:00 at the church prior to services.
