Lillian "Mama Sims" Hensley Sims, 97, of Soddy-Daisy beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, passed away Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, at her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Sims; son, Samuel Curtis Sims; parents, Joseph and Nancy Millsaps Hensley; sister, Lucille Davis; brothers, Frank, William, Thomas and John R. Hensley; and grandson, Dewayne Heard.
She is survived by her sons, Marlin (Louise), Joe C. (Linda), Ed and Lamar Sims, all of Soddy-Daisy, and Gary (Sara) Sims, of Artesia, N.M.; and daughters, Mildred Barker, Agnes Sims and Nancy (Charles) Vandergriff, all of Dunlap, Tenn., Faye (Al) Tryon, of Chattanooga, Patricia (Ray) Phillips, of Hixson, and Catherine Heard, of Hendersonville, Tenn.
Celebration of Life service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Jeff Sledge officiating.
Interment will follow in Millsaps Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
