Frances Elizabeth Drennon, 83, of Las Cruces, N.M., and a former resident of Port Charlotte, Fla., entered eternal life Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012.
She was born Sept. 20, 1928, in Hixon, Tenn., to Floyd and Tilda Holcomb Smith.
Frances was a self-employed accountant and Former Miss Chattanooga 1944.
She is survived by her son, Michael M. (Jill) Drennon of Sterling Heights, Mich.; daughters, Sharon (Tom) Grzanka of Las Cruces, and Rita Drennon of Port Charlotte; grandchildren, Jason Benjamin and Michael Allen Drennon, and Michael Whitehead; and great-grandchildren, Jaylyn, Shae and Myles Drennon. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers; a sister; and a grandson.
At her request, cremation will take place, with a graveside service in May 2013 in Hixon.
Arrangements are by Baca's Sunset Crematory, Las Cruces.

Allen L. Drennon,54, 119 Meager Circle SW, Port Charlotte, died Sunday (Aug. 28, 1983).
Born in Tennessee, he came to the area two years ago from Michigan. He was a retired machine repairman for Ford Motor Company.
He leaves his wife, Frances; two daughter, Sharon Drennon of Michigan and Rita Drennon of Port Charlotte; a son, Michael Drennon of Michigan; his mother, Rachel; two brothers, Alvin and Jack Drennon, both of Michigan; and two grandchildren.
Services and burial will be in Tennessee. Roberson Funeral Home is in charge.
