UNA MAE "Mamaw" JONES, 83, began her journey to Heaven Monday evening September 29th, 2008. She was born September 12,1925, and was the last of eleven children, all from Rogers Springs, Tennessee. She has lived most of her life in Memphis with her daughter, Faye and family. Due to her health, for the past four years, she has lived in East Windsor, Connecticut at the Chestnut Point Nursing Home which is near her daughter, JoAnne and family. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1964, Edward Sam Jones of Cordova, TN. She is survived by her two daughters, JoAnne Roche and husband Jimmy of Windsor Locks, CT, and Faye Allison and husband, Henry of Bartlett, TN; She was the grandmother "Ma maw" of Joey and Adam MacDougald and Sara Steadman of Windsor Locks, CT; Lisa Sweeney and husband, Kerry of Lakeland, TN; Sammy Allison and wife, Layla of Arlington, TN, and pre-deceased Scott MacDougald of Windsor Locks, CT. She also leaves five great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Kenzie Sweeney, Hunter Allison, Colin and Carly MacDougald. She retired from Ivers & Ponds Piano Company in 1978 and devoted her life to her daughters and their families. Visitation will be from 6-8:00p.m. Wednesday, October 8th, and the funeral service will be at 2:00p.m., Thursday, October 9th at Memphis Funeral Home, Germantown Parkway Chapel with burial at Cordova Cemetery.
