Mrs. Allena Appling, wife of W. D Appling, cotton buyer and merchant at Barlett, died at 6:15 o'clock last night. Mrs. Appling was a member of a prominent family in Barlett and her husband is one of the firm of A D Appling & Sons. She leaves also a two-year-old daughter. She was the daughter of W. F. McCalla and had been married for about 6 years.
Mann, Raymond and Orvid McCalla her brothers, reside in Penton, Miss. A sister, Mrs. Maggie Williamson, lives at Rosemark.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Methodist Church at Barlett at 3 o'clock this afternoon. Interment at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. (Now called Bartlett-Ellendale)
