Jerry Downing, 70, of Drummonds, passed away on Monday, September 11. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, September 14 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Downing was a former police officer having served with the Munford Police Dept. and was a U. S. Army Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Downing; one daughter, Robin Downing (Kenny) Hurst of Lebanon, TN; three step-daughters, Regina (J.J.) Lawson of Abita Springs, LA, Mary (David) Gean of Grand Bay, AL and Melanie Winston of Memphis; one sister, Norma (Larry) Sanders of Henning; eight grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
