Malinda Gail Williams Howard, age 68, of Denison, TX, was called to be with her Heavenly Father June 26, 2017 and to be reunited with her husband, Hermon F. Howard and her father, Alvin H. Williams of Burlison, who passed away April 2, 2017 and her aunt, Betty Taylor, who was called away June 3, 2017. She will also join her grandparents, Raymond & Eva Woods of Wynne, AR. She was a woman of strong faith, a devoted wife, and a loving mother. During Hermon’s extended illness, she was a faithful caretaker. She showed loving care to everyone. She was very active in her church, Parkside Baptist and went on many mission trips and loved vacation bible school. She was a talented seamstress and taught the children basic sewing and cooking and made many beautiful quilts for the family. She loved to travel and she and Hermon went many places for his work with her last big trip being to Alaska with a church group from Memphis. She graduated from West Side High School in Frayser and later worked at John Deere Company until they left Memphis. Malinda went to nursing school to become an LPN nurse and worked for Dr. Alexander in Covington. She was a beloved mother to Zac (Christina) Howard, granddaughter Sophia, grandsons Colton and Caden Howard, all of Denison, TX, son Greg Howard (Sandra York) of Memphis, granddaughters Morgan Howard of New York, and Samantha Howard of Southaven. She is survived by her mother Charlene Williams, her brother Alvin Ray (Melissa) Williams of Burlison, nephews Chris and Cody Williams of Burlison, nieces Amie Blair of Memphis and Karli Mincks of Covington; aunt Ann Jenkins of Olive Branch and and aunt Edith Smart of Redondo Beach, CA, who all loved her dearly. The family would like to thank all of her church family and others who helped take care of Gail during her illness. Visitation will be held at Bratcher Funeral Home in Dennison, TX on Wednesday, June 28 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Parkside Baptist Church in Denison, TX at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. Craig Canton officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 1 at Magnolia Garden Cemetery in Covington.
