Fallwell Family Cemetery
Marshall County,
Tennessee

Cemetery Note: "The old tombstones of Elisha & Elizabeth Falwell and their infant child have been moved and new grave markers were placed along with the pieces of the old stones to a place about a mile north to the gravesite of Elisha's first son Moses Fallwell. The reason for the move is the old family grave site was in an alfalfa field and that was turned into a cow pasture part of the year, also vandals and hunters have desecrated the stones to rubble, along with cows walking on the graves over the many years. The current owner of the land, Virgil Beasley, told me that one day the graves would be plowed over and become part of the pasture land. Permission was granted by the present owner of Moses’ old property and new markers and pieces of the old markers of Elisha, wife and baby have been placed in their new home. A steel pipe fence was placed around the entire grave site to protect it from the horses & cows trampling them. All is welded shut with no gates to be left open but one can climb thru the steel pipes to visit the graves. Large animals have no entry. The steel pipe fence grave site contains some of Moses Falwell family along with Elisha and wife and baby child is only about 50 yards from a road, well within walking distance if you climb a wire fence." Written by Boyd Eugene Fallwell, November 9, 2000.

Moving of the stones, stone fragments, and some of the dirt from the old graves was accomplished in 1997 by Kenneth Lyle Fallwell (1922-1999) and Boyd Eugene Fallwell (1933-2007), great great grandsons of Elisha & Elizabeth Fallwell.
