Floyd M. Hartsfield of Covington died in his residence of complications of cancer. Services were on Thursday afternoon in the chapel of Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home Inc. with Buford Travis officiating. Interment was in R. H. Munford Cemetery in Covington. A native of Tipton County, his parents were Marcus and Maggie Holmes Hartsfield. A retired operations engineer for International Union in California, he was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Assembly of God. He leaves his widow, Virginia Grantham Hartsfield; two sons, Dennis Hartsfield of Millington and Michael Hartsfield of Decatur, Al.; a daughter, Judy Hood, and two sisters, Mary Sue McClain and Josie Joy of Covington; 16 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. A son, Philip Hartsfield, preceded him in death.
