Thelma Marie Hughey Elrod, 71, homemaker, of Brighton, passed away on Tuesday, October 28 at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 30 in the Chapel of Covington Funeral Home with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29 at the funeral home. She is survived by her husband, Joseph W. Elrod; one son, Ricky Elrod of Germantown; two daughters, Vickie Elrod Griffin of Horn Lake, MS and Connie Elrod Bingham of Brighton; two brothers, Lynn Hughey of Brighton and George Hughey of Covington; one sister, Margie Staley of Greenfield, TN and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Dovie Gray Hughey; her twin brother, Elmer Hughey and one sister, Nancy Chumley.
