John Earl Boswell, 86, retired special agent with the Rock Island Railroad, passed away Sunday, August 5 at the Ave Maria Nursing Facility in Memphis. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 9 at the Covington Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 8 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. He was a member of the Rosemark Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Ruth A. Boswell, one daughter, Kelley Melton of Brighton; one son, Mike Boswell of Vonore, TN; one sister, Clarice Duty of Kansas City, MO; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
