George Ellis Curtis, 52, of Covington, former Marvin Windows employee, passed away Friday, December 5, at his home. Graveside services were will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9 at Magnolia Gardens Cemetery in Covington. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday, December 8 at the Covington Funeral Home. He leaves his wife, Janice D. Curtis; two daughters, Robin L. Freeman of Covington and Cynthia Walker of Olive Branch, MS; one son, Tony E. Curtis of Millington; four brothers, John Curtis of Covington, Walker Curtis and Alton Curtis, both of Brighton and Elmer Curtis of Plato, MO; two sisters, Ann Berkley and Ailene Hartsfield, both of Covington and five grandchildren, Kathleen Dawn Curtis, Shane Daniel Ellis Freeman, Ian Jace Walker, Mackinzie Lucile Freeman and Dean Elliott Walker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alford Woodrow and Mary Lucille Curtis. ?In the end, the cancer did not defeat him, but was the vehicle to his final home.
