Susan Elam, 72, of Munford, passed away on Sunday, February 7. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9 at the funeral home. Mrs. Elam had been a caregiver for the last nine years, was a former business owner, a former business manager and a member of the Crossroads Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by her husband, James E. Elam; one son, Phillip M. Flowers of Cabo, Mexico; one daughter, Susan Michelle (David) Spinks of Henning; one step-son, Tony E. (Christie) Elam of Atoka; one step-daughter, Cindy D. (Clay) Dunn of Covington; three sisters, Betty (Russell) Cox of Alamo, Ann Craig of Brownsville and June Casey of Gates; one brother, Robert Lynn (Phyllis) Smith of Cincinnati, OH; 12 grandchildren, Elizabeth Dunn, Charity (Jon) Vowell, Meghan (William) Ward, Marissa Elam, Braelynn Elam, Camryn Spinks, Peyton Flowers, Alex Flowers, Ashley (Craig) Wright, Christopher Flowers, Michael Fojtasek and Richie Newbill and seven great grandchildren, Daniel, Hunter, Abbey, Connor, Parker, Alexis and Maddie. She was preceded in death by one son, Richard Scott Flowers and her parents, Robert Edward "Jack" and Era Shands Smith.
