Mrs. Alice E. Byars, the widow of Mr. Emmett Byars, passed away on October 27, 2016. Mrs. Byars, 93, was a housewife and member of the Raleigh Assembly of God Church.
Mrs. Byars is survived by her sons, John C. (Norma) Byars of Millington and James E. (Joan) Byars of Edgemont, AR; her son-in-law, Jerry Maguire; her brother, Clayton Beckett of Covington; her sisters, Hazel Adams of Grand Junction, CO and Robbie Ervin of Millington; her six grandchildren, John Lee Byars, Jeff Byars, Laurie Townsley, Jason Byars, Bradley Maguire, and Elaine Torgersen; fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Byars was preceded in death by herdaughter, Diane Maguire; and siblings, J. L. Beckett, Bertha Jones, Herman Beckett, Nellie George Beckett, Louise Thompson, Willy B. Glenn, Robert Beckett, and Earle Beckett.
The services for Mrs. Byars will be held on Saturday, October 27, at 3PM at the Maley-Yarbrough Chapel. Visitation for Mrs. Byars will be held from 2-3 prior to the services starting. Interment will follow in R. H. Munford Cemetery.
