Mr. James Melton Palmer, age 90, of Memphis, died on Wednesday, October 10th. Funeral services for Mr. Palmer will be held at 2PM Saturday in the Covington Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in the R.H. Munford Cemetery in Covington. A visitation will be held from 6 - 8PM Friday at the Covington Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Palmer leaves behind 5 daughters: Maxine Gibson of Brighton; Geneva Miller of Morley, Michigan; Cindy Hines of Batesville, MS; Patsy Harwell of Ripley, TN; and Beverly Gabriel of Ripley, TN. He also leaves behind two sons: William Palmer of Memphis and James Palmer of Brighton. In addition, Mr. Palmer leaves behind a brother, Clyde Palmer of Brighton and 23 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Mr. Palmer was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Pauline Simpson Palmer, a son, Gary Wayne Palmer, five sisters, and two brothers.
