Peyton Farber Batts age 63 of Graysville died in his wife's arms at home Saturday evening.
Peyton was born on August 29, 1943 in LaFayette, GA, the son of the late Elmer and Zoie (Zichmore) Batts and was also preceded in death by his step-father, John Aters.
Peyton was raised in LaFayette where he graduated from the LaFayette High School. For the past 16 years Peyton had lived in Graysville and retired from DuPont as a supervisor after 25 years of service. Peyton was an avid fisherman and loved watching his grandson Clinton play baseball.
Peyton is survived by his wife, Ola (Reed) Batts of Graysville, two sons, Joel (Wendy) Batts of VA, Terry Turner of Graysville, two daughters, Tina (Rocky) Hill of Dayton, Tracy Batts of AZ, brother, Mike (Retha) Aters of LaFayette, GA, sister, Sherry (Horace) Wilbanks of Rock Springs, GA, and his beloved grandson Clinton Douglas Turner of Dayton.
Funeral service for Peyton will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ray Hill officiating.
Burial will follow in Rhea Memory Gardens in Dayton.
The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Sunday from 5:00pm until 7:00pm and all day Monday. Please visit the family's online guest register at www.vanderwallfh.com.

Ola Belle Turner Batts, age 77, of Graysville, died Monday evening, November 26, 2018 at her home in Graysville.
She was born on December 24, 1940 in Rhea County to the late Arnold and Fannie (Reed) Reed. Ola was also preceded in death by her late husband Peyton Batts and previous husband Charles Clinton Turner.
Ola lived in Rhea County all of her life. Her journey began on Grandview mountain. She was employed at Dupont and then worked in the Rhea County High School cafeteria and then at the Graysville Elementary School cafeteria. She loved cooking for the kids. There she fed and took care of Stephanie and Clinton. Ola was an exceptional wife, sister, mother and most amazing Mamaw. She loved gardening, yard sales, decorating, Christmas and shopping with her sisters. She was our rock. Her journey has ended as she rests with our Lord.
She is survived by her two daughters, Tina Turner (Chris) Miles of Spring City, Stephanie Turner Genoe of Chattanooga, her son, Terry Turner of Graysville, grandson, Clinton (Summer) Turner of Dayton, three sisters, Ova (Bobby) Crowe of Sale Creek, Imogene Langston of Sale Creek and Alice Faye Defur of Evensville, her brother, Dallas Reed of Grandview, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Ola will be held Thursday at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ray Hill officiating. She will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens followed by a white dove release.
The family is being cared for by the Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
