Dayton, TN — Ruth Gennoe Wilkey, 92, passed away Friday, October 30, 2009, at her residence.
She was a lifelong resident of Rhea County. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Wilkey; daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Agnew Hood; three sisters, Hazel Wilkey, Bertha Kelley, and Pearl Wilkey; grandson, Daniel Wilkey; great-grandchild, Bradley Skinner.
Survivors: son, Melvin (Aileen) Wilkey, Dayton; two daughters, Almeda (James) Kesler, Soddy-Daisy, Mamie (Frank) Shirley, Ringgold, Ga.; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga, Faye, Martha, and Betty.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.
Services will be 3 p.m. today at the chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Painter officiating.
Interment in Buttram Cemetery.
