Obituary 3 May 1866 from Fayetteville, TN. Observer
"Dropped Dead.
Mrs. Rebecca Buchanan, wife of Mr. David Buchanan, who resides two miles from this place, on the Fishing Ford road, died of apoplexy last Saturday evening. At dinner she partook as heartily, and seemed to be as well, as usual. Rising from the table, she walked to the smokehouse, thence to the kitchen, and returning to the house, fell at the doorstep, dying in about fifteen minutes. She was an estimable lady - a consistent member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church."
