Mary Ruth Shannon Scates, 75, of Soddy-Daisy, died on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at a local hospital.
She was of the Church of God faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Wheeler Scates; parents, Sanford and Mary Shannon.
She is survived by her sons, Marshall W. Scates Jr., Tommy F. Scates; brother, James Shannon; sister, Flora Parsons.
Funeral services will be at noon on Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Essex officiating. Interment will follow in Dividing Ridge Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 10 a.m. on Friday until time of service at the funeral home.
