Dollie West Arrowood, 77, of Hixson, TN departed this life to begin a new one on Monday, October 18, 2010.
She was a lifelong resident of the Middle Valley area and a member of Middle Valley United Methodist Church for many years.
Known as "Miss Dollie", she drove a school bus, for Hamilton County Special Education and Head Start for over 20 years.
An avid gardener and bird watcher she will be sadly missed by all those who knew her.
Her daughter, Kay West; and infant son, Benny West preceded her death.
She is survived by her sister, Georgia Harding Thomas, of Soddy-Daisy, TN; a wonderful mother to Bobbie West (John) White, of Bryant, AL, Jeffery West, of Gray, GA, Mark West, David (Jackie) West and Rusty (Donna) West, all of Hixson, TN; two stepchildren, Robert Arrowood, of Hixson, TN and Lisa Arrowood, of Athens, TN.
A loving grandmother known as "Gran" to 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored. She was a "special" aunt to several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2010, in the Legacy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Reece Fauscett officiating.
Interment will follow in Dividing Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1-9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by locally owned and operated Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Soddy-Daisy, TN.
