Obit: Alice Georgie McClure Doran, age 80, of Blountville, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at the Cambridge House. She was born on June 17, 1937, in Kingsport, Tenn., a daughter of the late Asheville F. and Ann Nancy David McClure. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Donald Doran; sons, Larry Doran and John Robert Doran; and grandson, Jason Doran. Alice loved and lived life to the fullest. She was a very loved and cherished woman who enjoyed sitting outdoors or just looking out the window. She spent the last 7 years living with her oldest son, wife, and great grandchildren in which she enjoyed every minute of it. Alice attended Bible Way Church. She loved her church friends, and spending time with her family. She will be missed dearly but we know Heaven received the perfect angel today and she is happy now with her husband, sons and grandson and most of all God. She is survived by her sons, Donald Doran and wife, Norma, and Conley Doran and wife, Angela; granddaughter, Felicia Doran and special friend, Tim Whitaker; grandchildren, Libby, Faith, Rocky, and Hunter; great grandchildren, Zack, Peyton, and Isaac; and her caregiver and special friend, Sandy Eads. A funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2017, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Freddy Whitaker and the Rev. Dan Whitaker officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. prior to the service.
