August 7, 1935 - September 28, 2006
BRISTOL, Tenn. Garry Hughes Tiller, 71, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, at the Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was born Wednesday, Aug. 7, 1935, in Clintwood, to the late John Bernard and Mona Hughes Tiller, and had lived in Bristol since 1985. He was in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, serving a tour of duty in Vietnam. After retiring from the Air Force, he went to college and started his own business, Tiller Refrigeration and Appliance Repair. Mr. Tiller was also a real estate agent with American Reality and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his loving wife, Daisy Buchanan Tiller; one son, Michael Evins Tiller; one daughter, Donna Sizemore and husband Roger; two stepdaughters, Janie Leonard and Joyce Camper; two brothers, Travis Tiller and Neil Tiller and wife Martha; seven grandchildren, Brennon Tiller, Miles Tiller, Jesse Sizemore, Kristi Sharrett, Stead Taft, Jay Smith and Chad Vannoy; two great-grandchildren, Chris Doss and James Legg; one special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margaret and George Jones; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon, Sept. 30, 2006, in the Heritage Chapel of Memories in Glenwood Cemetery, or any other time at the home of Joyce Camper, 201 Pine Laurel Circle, Bluff City, Tenn. The funeral service will follow at 3 o'clock with Dr. Stan Anderson officiating. Full military rites will be presented by Tennessee National Guard. The entombment will follow.
